Team communications
Employing people with the right skills and personal qualities at all levels in a company makes a winning team. Choosing the people isn't always easy, because there are a lot of factors to consider. Someone who is looking for a job usually puts together a CV (Curriculum Vitae). This gives an employer a summary of the applicant's qualifications, skills, interests and abilities.

In turn, employers produce job descriptions which describe what a role involves and provide other useful information. Often the job description is part of the wording of an advert.

One activity gives students the opportunity to match the CVs of six candidates with the job most appropriate for them. There are job descriptions for eight typical roles in the pharmaceutical industry. Students can follow this up by preparing their own CV.

A second activity encourages students to work as an effective team. The team task is to select characteristics of good teams and the beneficial behaviours of individuals within teams using a card sort exercise.
